iOS On the Air?

You know very well that this a different product than the iPad. This would be meant for light business users or students who only want light productivity on-the-go and good media capabilities.
I love this idea. I would love a Macbook Air chassis, running iOS with a display connection and USB ports.
Basically an iPad Pro.
I'm a student who bought a MBP with my scholarship and it was a terrible decision. I have too much power. And it's a little heavy for the light tasks I needed. (The iPad was not released at the time and the baseline Macbook weighed more and was plastic. It also had nearly the same power and specs.)
I want the low power and portability of a Macbook Air without the steep price. The way Apple can get away with charging such a steep price for less materials and power amazes me.
I understand the technology and R&D at the time, but by now that has to have come down. But Apple is about image, and lowering the price would seem weak.
Sometimes it gets old.
But anyways, I love the mock-up.
Technically it's not that great. The screens don't quite match up. But I love the idea.

Have you been paying any attention to the rumors at all? iOS for iPad will get multitasking this fall.
^What the hell are you talking about? On iPhone 3GS, 4, and iPod Touch third gen, iOS 4 has multitasking support, accessible by double-tapping the home button. Ask literally anyone, and they will tell you this.
Computer multitasking - the apparent simultaneous performance of two or more tasks by a computer's central processing unit.
I don't get the point of replacing OS X with iOS. However, I do believe we will be able to run iOS in a shell of some sort on OS X in the future. I don't see any reason at all for Apple to add a touch screen to the MBA.
What I see happening is an LCD trackpad that is the same size as the iPhone 4 display. That makes sense to give the same feel and allow touch without needing to touch the display. Removing the keyboard or wanting to put fingerprints all over the screen of the MBA would SUCK.
I don't see Apple replacing the 13.3" MBA with an 11.6" MBA. What seems much more realistic is adding an 11.6" MBA to the lineup. It would also make sense to introduce a 15" MBA. Many people find the need for a 10-hour 15" MBP with a worthless optical drive ridiculous. Apple could produce multiple sizes of MBAs to further drive demand for lightweight and thin Macs.
I see these MBAs as getting higher price tags than the current 13.3" MBAs at $1499 and $1799. I don't believe it makes sense to introduce low-end MBAs. Put fancy components in them, and price them as they did before the MBA prices dropped. I would think $1999 would be a good starting point.

You can throw any definitions you want at it.. The fact is that iOS 4 doesn't support concurrent execution of multiple user-installed applications. Specially written apps tapping into a limit set of OS-supported background functions != multitasking.
Me neither. Why would someone want a limited locked-down OS designed for low-powered mobile devices on their computer is beyond me. It would be just as pointless as trying to port MacOS to run on an iPhone.
