The iOS Remote App is still not compatible with Music in macOS Catalina 10.15.1.

Why is Apple neglecting their customers in such horrible manner?

We, the market, don't need more emojis!

Agreed! I used that app every day. Can't believe they have seemingly dropped all support for it...? It's always been treated like a niche piece of software (updates come late, was never able to control Apple Music) but we can't be the only ones who use it!

It works, but you have to link your phone to music app. Here are the instructions:
Set up the iTunes Remote app for Music on Mac
  1. Disconnect your iOS device from your computer, if it's connected.
  2. On your device, tap Remote on the Home screen.
  3. Tap Settings, then tap Add a Music Library. A 4-digit code appears.
  4. In the Music app on your Mac, click the iPhone button near the top left of the iTunes window.
  5. Type the 4-digit code.
  6. It will tell you that the iPhone now works as a remote.
  7. Fixed!!!!!

UPDATE: This does not work...you simply changed iTunes to Music in the description above but the Music app does not have this pairing feature.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I just saw the 10.15.2 update that restores Remote functionality...sorry, will update to regain Remote functionality!

Cool, will check this out tonight. Question is why does this process seem hidden from so many people?

Does anyone have the problem where you regularly have to re-pair the iPhone Remote app with a new code? Seems most often if I reboot my iMac, I have to re-pair the remote app as well ...
