Has anyone used iPhone data recovery software and try to recover any deleted iMessages, photos, etc...? I tried it out and it seems to be able to see most deleted messages without having to unlock my iPhone. What is the point of Touch ID lock if anyone can look into my phone? I was dumb founded by how easy it was to look into someone's phone without even unlocking. Add to the fact that the software can also scan backup files and read messages, see photos, etc..

Isn't this a complete security flaw in iOS? I thought Apple should at least block these software from looking into the phone. How was FBI not able to use these $40 off the shelve software and read text messages from San Bernardino shooters?

Yeah... don't you have to unlock your device before they can access your iPhone? Or are you actually looking at an iTunes backup of your phone?

Additionally you could (and should) be encrypting your iTunes backups anyway.

Are you being serious? People don't have to have anything to hide to still want their privacy to stay intact.

What software??

https://www.imyfone.com/iphone-data-recovery/

That software only works if you unlock your phone and choose to trust the computer hooked up to your phone.

I really wish people would think things through before complaining about things they clearly don't understand.

I don't think so...I used it on non trusted PC and it still scans. On top of that if your backups are unencrypted there's no way around. I've thought of this more than you think.

No, it doesn't. The first time you plug your phone into an unknown computer, it flat out refuses to expose its information until you accept to trust this computer through an iOS prompt.

Nope. Requires you to trust the computer first. Hell you can't even sync with iTunes or ImageCapture on an unknown computer without trusting.

So many this kind of recovery products on the market, wonder which one is free~~~ As long as effective, it doesn't matter to spend some money on it.;)

What does that have to do with this?

Security flaw my ass.
When I plug in my phone it can't do **** and I get an error message that don't make any sense.
First of all i chosen to restore from iPhone but it says that my iTunes backup is crypted.
This is clearly some scam program and i´m not surprised if TS is behind it.

None of them are free. I tried to recover deleted messages from my phone but it won't let me unless I buy the full version.

Calm the eff down. It will only scan unencrypted backup file, as someone had already pointed out if I encrypted my backup file i can prevent these kind of programs from peeking the phone's content.

So there's no security issue then if encrypted backups can't be scanned and the phone can't be scanned unless the computer is trusted?

So you're saying an unencrypted backup can be scanned using this software and that's a security risk.
But an encrypted backup can't be scanned.
What's the problem again?
