I just posted this to Apple Feedabck. Do any of you guys know of a solution?

"Since iOS 14 (?) you have implemented a volume max control feature, and here in EU this means we can't turn this "feature" off.

This gives great trouble for my wife who works as a training instructor. In the middle of her class the volume suddenly lowers! Neadless to say this is quite irritating.

I know that you are restricted by EU, but you really have to fix this somehow. There must be thousands of training instructors, DJ's, etc etc that is impacted by this regulation? Should they look for another solution or can we still recommend iPhone?

Please solve this,
/andreas"

you can go into the health app and reset the volume monitor.

I don’t mean to be snarky, but isn’t this really the EU’s fault and not Apple’s?

I agree it’s just Apple doing what they have to do to meet regulations and to an extent protect themselves from frivolous lawsuits. The do not disturb when driving functionality was partly in response to someone trying to claim apple didn’t stop people using the phone whilst driving and there had been a crash where someone had been using their phone. Sadly some folk always think it’s someone else fault.
