Hello, I am not an iPad user. In terms of compatibility with the Windows/Mac version of Microsoft Office especially the PowerPoint component, which is the best app in each OS? The app has to be able to show animations and special effects. Thanks.

You'd be better off with a Windows RT/8 tablet for what you want to do. That way there are no compatibility issues to worry about.
Until they put Office on one of those, or unless you use Office Online, there will always be some compatibility issues. You usually won't notice it unless you do a decent amount of formatting, though.
Edit: And, of course, there are no true equivalents to Excel, but lucky for you that isn't a program you're using.
If you're typing just plain documents then no. But if they're even mildly formatted with photos, tables, etc. you could run into issues.
