I know it's a little early for a thread like this but I wanted to talk about what might happen in the next release of iOS and if you think it will be called iOS 10 or iOS X.

I was wondering when the first iOS 10/X thread would pop-up here.

New Mac computers should start running iOS. Apple could just make iOS layout different on computers (the same way Microsoft has done for Windows 10). It would be great to have unified apps and experiences across my devices. As well as iOS being a much cleaner and efficient system to replace the clunkiness that is OS X.

Sorry, but I think the windows computer/tablet integration is a joke. They trick computer "noobs" into thinking those tablets with detachable keyboards are actually "computers" when infact they're only tablets with detachable keyboards. Hopefully Apple doesn't go anywhere near this.

I don't mean that Apple messes it up in the way Microsoft did. OS X is quite similar to iOS on a system level, so porting apps shouldn't be that hard, especially if they release a tool to help developers do it. There are of course features on iOS that need to be upgraded to make it a fully function operating system. All I'm saying is that on the back end there would only be one operating system, making the coercion much better, and universal apps.

It is early, but it's just a year away. I really wonder what they'll do next year.

OS X 10.12 and iOS 10? iOS X?

It'll sound weird to say. "OS ten and iOS ten". If they weren't on a path to eventually merge the two OSes, it would have made sense to keep Mac in the name. "Mac OS ten and iOS ten".
