I am having this issue as well. Any fixes?Ever since I upgraded to iOS10 yesterday, my camera shutter will not open in the Camera app or on Instagram. It only seems to open on Snapchat.
Anyone else having this issue and a fix?

I've had the blurring thing a handful of time- for me it's only happened after opening the camera by swiping left on the lock screen, though that could just be coincidence.I've had it open then blur and then I had to reboot. One time it opened up black and switching modes didn't return the picture. This was on iPhone 7 Plus. It happened on 10.0.2 but since I've went to 10.1 beta and I haven't had the issue yet. *crosses fingers*
I've reported the same issue here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-7-camera-opens-to-black-screen.2004291/#post-23669249
Spoke with Apple and they haven't heard about this issue. They suggested the usual: hard reset, factory restore and if the issue continues to send the phone back for a replacement.
It seems to me that this is a software bug since users are experiencing the same thing when updating older iPhones, e.g. 5 and 6.
Wasn't this issue fixed and included in the release notes for 10.1?
It shouldn't have to be. I don't want to nuke the field to kill a mouse.Try Reset All Settings. It's like a magic boost.

I understand that. I've just grown weary of "reset your entire device from scratch" being the solution for every little iOS bug.We weren't debating whether it should or shouldn't be necessary to do a Reset. Just trying to come up with a solution and this one works in the majority of cases. Unfortunately the reality is that software is buggy not just on iPhones.
There are two options widely used: Reset all Settings (no data is erased) or Erase All Data (which wipes out the entire phone and returns everything to default settings). The first one is not as much trouble as the second one.I understand that. I've just grown weary of "reset your entire device from scratch" being the solution for every little iOS bug.
Yeah, thanks for the explanation, but I understand what each does. I'm simply stating that going through the hassle of wiping a phone is a lousy troubleshooting step for every tiny bug. There are two options widely used: Reset all Settings (no data is erased) or Erase All Data (which wipes out the entire phone and returns everything to default settings). Odd because the release notes for iOS 10.1 say "Fixes an issue where opening the Camera app would show a blurred or flashing screen for some users". I had the issue on iOS 10 prior to iOS 10.1 but thankfully have not been having the issue since updating to iOS 10.1.nope. it happened again to me today. first time since the second day I owned the phone. a reboot got the shutter to work. its got to be a software issue. the iOS camera app opened to a black screen, however the focus grid appeared, but it seemed like the shutter won't open. closing the camera app didn't fix it. I immediately opened the 3rd party camera app ProCamera, and the shutter opened up immediately, without issue.
this must be an iOS bug, not a hardware issue.
Just submitted a bug report for this also btw
When all else fails, it's worth the hassle. And again, you're not wiping a phone. Just resetting the majority of the settings.Yeah, thanks for the explanation, but I understand what each does.
