So I went to the store today to get my phone replaced due to multiple issues. Upon talking to my first tech I mentioned to him how I have had a ton of ios11 issues from when I delete calls in my call log how it crashes to the home screen, multiple issues system wide where it crashes back to home screen, phone rings and I can hear it ring but do not see anything on home screen until the third ring, overall very slow OS and lags a lot. I was told by multiple techs that even on their own phones they have been having many issues and wonder why Apple is taking so long to fix things which look simple. Its just not as snappy as ios10.

Don't get any of those problems on my 8 Plus nor does my wife on her 7 Plus, not got any issues with iOS 11 myself.

I don't have any of those issues, IOS 11 is as good/better as any other release *shrug*. This is experience iPhone 7/X.

I use my phone constantly and haven't had a single weird thing happen and haven't experienced any slowdowns whatsoever.

I would agree, it is pretty bad. Battery drain has also been a major issue for many people, myself included. Nearly everyone else I know with an iPhone has noticed a significant drop as well.

I brought it into the store, and two techs I talked to have had the same exact drain issue on their X's, but a third one hasn't noticed anything on his 8. Makes me wonder if a slight manufacturing difference (chip fab, etc) is the root cause and iOS11 is just exposing it?

It was perfectly fine on 10, with ~70% left after a whole day. Did the 11 update now it eats through battery like it is nothing, and regularly runs out by the end of the day. Very disappointing.

One of my friends had just bought a 7 right before iOS 11 was released, and it drained his battery so much he immediately returned his brand new phone and switched back to his 4 year old droid.

What iOS version r u experiencing drain on your X?

Biggest issue for me has been the autocorrect. I don’t know what they did to it, it was pretty much perrfect a few years ago and it’s just been downright terrible lately. I can understand it trying to fix some of the weird words I use with friends, but sometimes even normal words in normal sentences get changed to something completely random.

It was a big mistake from Apple releasing the very unfinished and badly optimised iOS 11.
Throttling-gate was also a joke.
Not acceptable.

Just seconds ago when I try to use force touch cursor, safari freezes. Turns out a notification is kicking in, freezing the entire browser for a good while.
Was about to say “no major issue” but I take it back. iOS 11 is definitely buggier than previous release.

One of the steps in training at Apple is aligning with the customer. By telling you these things, you feel justified in your complaints and feelings. Whether or not they're having the same issues (chances are, not), they try to get buy in. I wouldn't take this as proof that something is wrong with the software. I run a fleet of hundreds of iPhones and iPads, and we are not experiencing this issue. My sample size is not large enough to say that you're wrong, just that it isn't happening to everyone.

I wonder if those having zero issues did a clean install vs those of us with issues did restore. Can we know details please? I have major battery issues

It also might be because the people with newer devices were the ones who said they experienced no problems. The removal of 32-bit support made the newer iPhones faster. My 5s has gotten a lot slower on iOS 11, and I hate the new screenshot thing.

My 8Plus has never once crashed on me. No reboots or resprings at all. I have pretty good battery life as well. I have a few issues which I believe are related to the month 13 bug, but I have not experienced anything you have. I set my phone up as new on 11.0 when I purchased it.

User A: iOS 11 sucks, worst release ever
User B: I don't have any problems with iOS 11

User A: You sir, are a liar
User B: You are

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Works well for some
Doesn't work well for others
many, Many, MANY variables... hardware, usage, apps, workflow, etc.

This is true of any iOS upgrade, macOS upgrade (like High Sierra), battery life on iPhones/Macs, hardware

Nothing is ever proven by an individual's personal experience
Personal experience is just that, personal

For every User A who can gather anecdotal knowledge, User B can counter with just as many stories

I'm fortunate to be one of the ones who isn't experiencing any issues
But I am not naive enough to believe that others aren't, and hopefully those issues will be fixed in upcoming releases

I personally make a backup of my iPhone every 2 months or so and restore the iPhone from said backup.

Haven’t really run into issues on my 7 Plus, not even my old 6 besides the obvious lag And I am on my phone aaaaaall day
