Anyone else experiencing problems? My xr is now clunky and slow, and apps crash constantly. I’ve had it 2 days and am worried that my xr is ruined due to this upgrade. Anyone with similar issues?

As we have had several iOS 13 updates over a few weeks (iOS 13.0, 13.1 and 13.1.1), it might be a good idea to back your XR up via iTunes (encrypted backup) and then restore it. I restored my iPhone 7 to iOS 13.1 after running a series of betas and it works great now, same or even better than it was on iOS 12. Might take you between 30-60 minutes to get it done, but will be well worth it in the end.

Thanks but no can do I’m afraid. Lost my iTunes backup password a while ago and no way of resetting it so I’m iCloud backup only !

One last ditch effort that may help your situation. (Ensure you have a backup just in case)
Go to General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You will NOT lose you data or apps, but it does reset all your personalized settings.

What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy.

This worked for me on my Xs Max.
I won't lie, it is a pain to have to put all your personalized setting back but resolved my issues.

Hope this helps
Tony

Opposite experience for me, nothing's slow & a few crashes but nothing new from before. I also got 3 day's battery life which was wild

Software updates cannot damage your phone. Millions of people are on 13.1.1. If you're experiencing problems, do a complete erase and restore from new. Go to apple store with ID to reset Itunes access.

I have been running 13 on my XR since db2, now on 13.1.1 with no major issues. Battery life has been excellent across all 13 variants.

You may have to do a full reset, which is PITA, but if you are using iCloud back you won’t lose you data but will have to reinstall and reset up all your apps.

Try reset all settings first.

In your situation I’d say your best bet is to “erase all content and settings” and then sign back into iCloud to get your data back. You’ll have to add all your apps and set them up which is a pain but in reality, losing your iTunes password did more to damage your phone(and future phones) than getting a bad iOS install... Full restore using iTunes installs a clean version of iOS and has corrected many problems like you describe in my past. I’m not sure if “erase all content and settings” works the same way as I’ve never used it to try and repair bad iOS performance

I will go to an Apple store and see if they can do anything about my lost password.
