Hello guys,
So ever since the first version of ios14 that came with my iphone 12pm I felt like the phone was not as snappy as it should be. Half a second choppy animations when switching from one app to another, when pulling the notifications bar or closing apps. (Turning off TrueTone seems to speed things up a little)
Also, by far the most frustrating, all 60fps videos on YouTube have frame drops. I’ve tried everything (720,1080,wifi,data, truetone om/off, i’ve even reseted my phone).
I’m starting to think my unit might be defective but if I take it back to the store I don’t think they will care about these issues (I don’t have Apple Store in my country).
Is anyone experiencing bad performance on iphone12s with ios14?
Also, updating my ipad mini 4 and other phone (7 plus) was the worst decision, it slowed down my devices really bad.

I’ve read this thread, but they complain about an issue I don’t seem to have, stuttering when closing an app. For me, the whole phone feels at times sluggish, thorughout the interface and also that ***** frame drop on YouTube on 60fps videos... but no stutter when closing the apps (like the one in that thread)
The thing is my gf’s iphone 8 plus on ios13 seems smoother to me and is quite frustrating on a 1000€+ phone

I get this all the time on 14.4 on my iPad Pro. VERY noticeable with pro motion. I think what just about everyone is overlooking is the two issues are related the laggy animations are exactly why closing apps is pausing and stuttering. Here’s a sample video in slo mo recording at 120fps and then slowed down to see how everything pauses and drops frames while scrolling. Feels like I’m using a damn Samsung tablet from 2015.

That’s how my phone also acts up throughout the apps animations. It’s really frustrating, even more on your iPad. My guess is that they must have this figured out till the next iphone comes out (most probably with the pro motion display as well) as it will become even more widespread...

Please forgive my ignorance but are you in the beta programme? If so, have you sent this video to them via the feedback app?

Yeah I too have these issues with YouTube and my iPhone.
It’s hard to describe or log them, so it would be possible that Apple haven’t noticed them yet.
