One annoying feature in iOS4 is that going back into settings or contacts takes you back to where you were last. That isn't useful as I normally acheive what I want in each app (e.g. change a setting or make a call) and when I go there next I want to do something different (e.g. change a different setting or call a different contact).

Is there any way to turn this off? Preferably not a jailbreak method but would consider it if there was something as this is really frustrating

thanks,
Chris

I guess you can't please everyone......I much prefer it the way it is now :)

However......when you close the app and come back to the home screen, I think if you double-click to open the multitasking bar, then fully close the app you were using (hold the icon until it shakes, then hit the red circle), next time you use it it should open on the main page of the app.

Edit: Hmmm......doesn't seem to work on the settings app for some reason.
