I own a 3GS and have backed up my contacts and bookmarks to my mac, but when I try to sync them with my iPhone 4, it does not sync.

Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone please help?

Much appreciated. Thank you.

Forgive me for asking the obvious, but have you remembered to turn on "Sync Contacts" in the iTunes/iPhone "info" tab, and properly configured your sync destination?

I lost contacts on my phone during the upgrade. I think you have to do your first backup with iCloud. I am doing this now, time remaining 1 hour

Yes I did, that's why I opened this thread.

I'm having the same issue. After updating to iOS5, I added a new contact on my phone. I plugged my iPhone 4 to my Macbook/iTunes for a backup and that new contact was not added to my MacBook's Address Book.

iTunes settings have been check multiple times.
