I've had my 2nd Gen iPod touch plugged into my computer for the past 5 hours as it attempts to update the firmware to 4.0. It seems to be stuck on the last 5%. The funny thing is, the same thing happened when I tried to restore my iPhone 3G the other day. It didn't go away, so I unplugged it after maybe 24 hours and bricked the device (my bad). Any idea what's wrong? I dont want the same thing to happen to my iPod touch....

First you cannot brick any iDevice, unless you are part of the Dev-Team.

Second try putting both the iPhone and the iPod into DFU mode and restoring them like that. It should bring your iPhone back to life and will complete the restore of your iPod. If you don't know how to get into DFU mode, Google it. There are billions of YouTube videos showing how.

My dads iPhone has done the same, anyone else having this problem??

I hope it works

Maybe its The Computer your using , if you've tried using multiple computers then you need to get it checked out...
