Hi Guys,

hoping someone can help me as i've scoured the net and i can't figure out what to search for, let alone the solution to my prob.

my music at some point decided to arrange itself randomly, Artist, Album, Songs, Composers etc, all categories are no longer arranged in alphabetical order, i.e. the names of Artists etc. don't match the letter they're listed under. Also Artists and Albums appear more than once in the list under different letters, and a restore doesn't seem to help my situation :(

i've attached some screenies for clarity, any help appreciated

Mine is doing the same thing. I have the most organized iTunes library you could imagine, and my iPad and all other devices are working correctly, but the iPhone 4s is messed up. Driving me crazy!

restore your phone and re-sync solved this for my phone. I even had songs on the phone that you could find through search, but didn't appear at all in the music app

Did you restore from a back up or do a clean restore? Doing a clean restore is not a good fix for me. I have a lot of apps that have information in them, and I don't want to do a clean restore of the whole phone.

I found a fix that worked perfect for me and many others on the forum. Simply go into the music tab of the iPhone, and unselect sync music. Hit APPLE. It'll take all the music off your iphone. Then simply resync the music as you had it before, and let it sync entirely through. It fixed it all for me, and is now the way it should be.

After the update to ios5, my iPad no longer plays the song I select. It will select a different song from the available songs. The iphone4 doesn't have the problem. Both devices have the same music, synced from the same iMac, both updated on ios5 release day.

I'm not using icloud yet because I have Mobileme.
