My iTunes is acting strange today.

The Apple Store takes a little longer than usual to load, but when it does, it appears to work fine. I can say sample a song without a pause.

I had a bunch of app updates to download and they all downloaded quickly, per usual.

I then synced my iPhone and that process went fine.

But if I click on Check for Update button, my iTunes will crash (to where I have to force quit it) or sometimes I will get an error message saying it could not reach the update server.

I was planning on restoring my iPhone 4S today but I get the same error message about the update server when I click on the Restore button. (Doesn't it already have the latest iOS downloaded?)

So something is up on Apple's end. Could it mean 5.0.1 is about to arrive?

Hmm - someone suggested on another forum that it might be because pre-ordering was opened up yesterday for 22 more countries. I guess that could account for the sluggishness.
