IOS5 update stuck at backing up

I got my iPhone 4 to update with limited problems. Now when I try to update my wife's phone it starts the back up sequence but never completes. Anyone having this error

Ya I was stuck at backup for 3-4 hours yesterday before I finally said screw it and cancelled. Will be trying again today.
