I recently upgraded to ios6 and jailbroke it with the tethered jailbreak. It was working fine up until I dled a zepelin from Cydia. Once I installed that and restarted Cydia, my phone turned off and got stuck on the apple sign while it was booting. It didn't change and I eventually did a restart on my phone and once I restarted it it didn't have my jailbreak anymore. It usually would ask for a respring and would go into safe mode, but it didn't go into safe mode. I tried boot tethered on red snow, entering DFU mode. I entered DFU mode and booted my phone again and once I did that it gets stuck on the apple logo again. I had to restart my phone holding the lock and home button again and once again there's no jailbreak on my phone. I can't open cydia, installous or any apps that I had downloaded along with winterboard. Anyone else experience this issue or ever have this happen to them? What should I do?

Restore you phone and don't install Installious. Piracy is illegal and not allowed be discusse on MacRumors in any form.

Just because he mentions the word 'Installous' it doesn't mean he's discussing piracy and is automatically forbidden from any help.

this section of the forum is titled "iOS Hacks" is it not? And others discuss cydia, etc. jailbreaking phones. What's the difference? eh.

Now that the soapbox has been crushed under the weight of all this moral purity, can we get back on topic, and help this guy out?

I'd love to, but I didn't even know there was a iOS6 tethered JB out yet.

Well, yeah, but not always.

Once in a while I jailbreak my phone and install Installous, and the download some apps I had my eye on, use them for a while, and later, if I like them - buy them. After doing so, I unjailbreak my phone :)

You have to restore your phone and re-jailbreak again. That's the only way

I highly doubt that this is your process... but go ahead and roll with that.:rolleyes:

17 apps already bought :p 1year ago I was a pirate, but now.. Jailbreak is slowing down my iPhone, so jailbreak is not an option for me + tethered one. Also, I upgrade to the newest versions of iOS at the same day.

Edit: Free apps hidden

I did the same thing, zeppelin killed my phone. But with a tethered boot, and after a few mins waiting at the apple i ssh'ed in from my mac and removed zeppelin and then rebooted tethered. After that is worked nicely and still jailbroken.

The word installous is not forbidden but discussion of piracy is. It does not matter what sub-forum, any discussion here at MacRumors is not allowed.

So you find an app that you want to try, JB your phone, install installous, try the app out, remove the jailbreak by restoring again, resync everything up and THEN..if you decide you like the app, buy via app store?

Wow. You would think throwing down the 99 cents for Angry Birds might be a more efficient way, although I guess everyone has their own ways of doing things.

Even though lots of people associate hacks with pirating but it's different. Jailbreaking is legal but pirating isn't.

I jailbreak my phone every 1-3months, for one week or a bit more, to try many apps, not just one, maybe 10-20.

It's similar to saying: Well, I like that car but first I think I'll steal it, take it for a ride and then consider buying it.

Stealing apps using the excuse "I just want to try them out" is the same as:

Shoplifting, then claiming you bring your stolen goods back to the store 2 days later to either return them because you didn't like them or pay for them if you liked the item.

Pay for your apps !

inb4 jailbreaking to add tethering is stealing from the carriers, getting a service something that you are not paying for. plz donut discuss JB tethering dat is stealing.
