iOS9 and iCloud Photo Library

I have discovered in one of the first betas that after a clean install turning on my iCloud Photo Library (around 37GB) with Download and Keep Originals enabled takes up almost twice the storage as it normally should. I connected it to iTunes and it shows around 60GB's as Other. This problem persists with yesterday's (13A344) release as well. The only solution for me was to downgrade to 8.4.1 where downloading originals occupies the correct amount of storage, and then update to iOS9 afterwards. Anyone noticed the same?

I'm pushing this thread, because the problem still exists in IOS 9.0.1.
Is there anyone else around here, who has this problem?

It only occurs when the setting "Download and Keep Originals" is checked.

Yes I wonder myself, are we the only ones with this problem? Atleast now I'm not alone. Perhaps others should check their storage info if they have "Download and Keep Originals" enabled.

Anyone else with the huge problem? It's the same with 9.1. I cannot store my 40gb's of photos on a 128gig iPhone 6 because the space is eaten by Other.

Interesting, I was hoping to hear iOS 9 is helping ICPL. I have a 500gb ICPL that I tried to use just with optimize storage on my 128 Air 2 as a test for my other iOS devices. Not impressed. Even though the whole library is uploaded to iCloud it can't really handle it. Photos crashes and hangs constantly. Plus now ICPL has stopped updating photos from our iPhones the past couple weeks. I just chatted with an Apple tech yesterday and they basically threw up their hands on ICPL - said they could forward to an engineer but that iCloud just generally has "issues" and I should just wait it out and see if it gets better in a few weeks.

Basically had the impression they still consider the whole thing a great big beta and not to expect much from it.

It's good they're saying it how it is, iCPL is just a big beta. I've had tons of issues with it just not syncing correctly (device randomly decides not to upload at all, or pull any new photos out of the cloud) and it's been a huge mess. I don't have a lot of photos though (almost 650, so nothing even comparing to you guys) thankfully, because my 1mbps upload speed is awful when you need to upload even approximately 6GB of photos/videos.

I'm glad they at least made it so with iOS 9 you get a progress indicator with uploads in terms of file size. So like something along the lines of "Uploading X amount of items: 13.7MB/138.5MB"
