iOS9 B2/3 - Apps Not Syncing To iTunes

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been covered in the myriad of other posts, but is anyone else experiencing the following?

I installed Beta 1 as we all excitedly did. Battery life was pretty dire and my device (iPhone 5S) would occasionally run hot, but that's all be covered and one could realistically expect that of a first Beta. Moreover, my phone would still sync without issues to iTunes (i.e. I would download software updates through the App Store on my phone, and these would automatically sync with iTunes and replace the older versions in the "Mobile Applications" folder).

With Beta 2 and the (last night installed) Beta 3, this is no longer happening. Apps are downloaded on to my phone, function correctly on the phone, but when I hook my phone up to my MBP iTunes seems to sync all info (messages, any added contacts etc.) except App updates. Weirdly, each time I sync it seems to only sync "Find My iPhone" and a few songs from a music playlist. I can still sync music to the phone without issue, but wondered, as this is a fairly significant bug, if anyone else is experiencing this issue? Surely I can't be the only one!

Tech wise, I'm running a 15" Retina MBP Mid-2015 with OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 Beta, iTunes 12.2.1.16 and using an iPhone 5S 16GB.

This is common, I think. Having the same problem with my iPhone 6 and iPad Air running the latest iTunes on Windows. New apps do get synced though. Reckon it'll be fixed on the next iTunes update.

Hi there. I've checked and new apps downloaded and installed on my phone definitely are not being synced to iTunes. I downloaded Beta 2 on July 22nd/23rd and despite installing several app updates, not one of them has synced with iTunes/Mobile Application folder since then

I reckon it has more to do with the iPod Services or Bonjour or summat that's messing things up because the idevice's OS version is not yet supported. Since there are the two of us who are having the same issue (to some degree), I reckon there'd be more out there. We can only hope iTunes will be updated sooner rather than later. Waiting till September is a bit too much.

Agreed. The sort of problem you'd imagine they would have squashed by now. I mean, it's fairly significant! And odd it was working just fine in Beta 1 and then is broken in Beta 2 and 3.

Eh? If that's the case then probably the issue is with the iOS beta itself instead of iTunes. Heard somewhere the other day that Apple is using a different method to deliver updates on iOS 9. That might just be the culprit.

Ahh, that's interesting. Damn it, Apple. Do you know what's different about their delivery method?

I reckon all these "under the hood" improvements is the cause. If I was to speculate, I reckon the coding is set to iOS 9 standards which leaves older apps using codes from previous iOS versions unable to be read properly by iTunes.... It's very likely that I'm wrong though, so don't quote me on this
