That crap is not working with IMDb even though the app was updated to iOS 9 and highlighted Spotlight compatibility under the release notes...

It is working with IMDb, but only after you search something inside the app. Then, those things will appear also on spotlight if you search again.

Same approach is for many apps updated for iOS 9.

Isn't this a little useless then? Meh...

IMDb for example does search some stuff without having to go in the app first. In my case the results happen to be movie theaters. Thing is, they're quite a drive away, as I live in Finland and the suggestions are more along the lines of Los Angeles etc.

But hey, it's something, right?

As for the films I've browsed in the app, they're right where they are supposed to be in Spotlight.

"Hey Siri, remind me of this later" - eg in an episode in eg Overcast podcast app. I think Rene Ritchie from iMore said that Marco's work on Continuity helped bring deep linking in for free

mine is pretty hit and miss... It did work with documents but that's the only app I've had search results in spotlight..I just tried with 1password and no matter what I do I can't get it to return any results.

You have to enable it in the settings of the app too, to make it work... Mine is working fine!

@CarlosQG @ddic @brunosh Spotlight on iOS indexes the content that is stored within the app, which is shown directly. IMDb doesn’t store film information on the device, it is an online database. Apple has created web crawlers that are indexing IMDb’s entire website as we speak. Once that is completed, Spotlight will also return results of online content which can be viewed in the app. So just be patient!
