IP Pro Max Camera - Zoom

Camera question for anyone or for a more knowledgeable person ...
Took a trip a week back and did some general area shots. I noticed that even on max zoom, or just a normal shot and then zoom in via software, a car license plate a 100' or so away is unreadable in the photo (see photo car license in mid left side). My son's Galaxy Note 10 can zoom in and the plate is easily readable. This applies to signs and other items on my Max.

Is there something I am missing on this phone? The camera is supposed to be good. So far I have not been that impressed.

In the photo here it looks like you were focusing on the tree in the foreground. I’d shoot another photo she be sure you focus on the license plate.

I'll give that a try.
I was doing a general shot - no specific focus chosen.
