Anyone here ever change the battery on their iPhone 6 Plus yourself? Do you have any recommendations on a reliable source to buy a new battery? Is iFixit.com's $40 kit a good alternative? If anyone has any experience, please share, thanks.
Fixing battery is one of the most common issue with iPhone after fixing cracked screen. I have fixed batteries in numerous iPhone 6, so I have seen a different sorts of batteries from different vendors. Recently, I got this one from https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Battery-iPhone-Plus-Teenitor/dp/B01F2Z7FYQ I must say this is one of the best quality batteries I have seen.
this compares with OEM battery. If you would like the proof, just take off the Teenitor sticker from the battery and you can see that the battery without any sticker is identical to the battery of original iPhone. The connector and body has the same feeling as OEM apple's battery. I have seen other batteries with different color connectors, but this one has identical appearing connector to original iPhone's battery.
Also, this one has the black spongy material on the top of connector to provide insulation, unlike those cheaper batteries that has metal exposed without any insulation, and you run into risk of short circuiting your phone.
After I put the battery, I had to charge it for a while. Once fully charged, it lasted more than six hours of normal use. This says it is a good quality item.
