When I plugged my charging cable in to my phone, it wasn’t working. After a while, the phone ran out of charge and then, when I plugged the cable in, it displayed the graphic that shows it’s charging (just the battery, without the cable pointing towards it)

It’s been at this stage for about 15/20 minutes... Any advice for what I should do?

Use non metallic prove to clean out lightning socket. Wood or plastic toothpick.

If that does not work, do you have a second cord and power adapter or Mac to try charging from? To eliminate that as the problem.

After that if still not charging, ,looks like Apple Store time. Battery might be hosed.
