Ipad 1 for $280.. good deal?

Used but warranty until nov 2011. no box, comes with the unit, charger, usb. Local on CL for $280.

good deal?


I'm not sure exactly whats going to happen when the Ipad 2 actually hits the shelves. I'm sure more ipad 1's will hit craigslist but am I being too optimistic thinking the prices will be lower than $280? Cause otherwise, I can just grab this right now.


Any votes? yay or nay?
 
I think that's a pretty good deal. I highly doubt that the ipad 1's price will drip more than that.
 
I second that being a good deal considering I just sold my 32GB WiFi for $500.00. I'd say go for it, given that it's in a condition worth buying.
 
I also just bought a used iPad 1 on ebay last night. It was the low-end 16gb wifi and I paid $310 total (with shipping). It still has over 9 months of warranty left on it and came with the box and original accessories. I figured, the best price for a "new" on is from the apple.com refurb site and with shipping and tax that would cost me just over $380.

On ebay though, look out for the scam listings. When they show a stock photo, no/minimal description, and have a rating of 0 or 1, I'd stay away no matter what the price.
 
Right now, the cheapest brand new gen1 is going to cost $399. You essentially have 7 1/2 months of warranty. You may find something cheaper in April as more people try to get rid of their older iPads. But if you can't wait, go ahead and jump all over it. Looks like a deal.
 
I would grab. I think used iPad 1.0 prices are going to start going back up once the new iPads stock drys up. Sure Apple might continue to have a steady supply of refurbs but most people do not realize that Apple sells refurbs.
 
That's a good price and the reason I am passing down the iPad 1 rather than selling it
 
Waste of money given how little extra a new iPad 2 will cost and how much better it is.

Little extra? The ipad 2 is $499 + tax which comes out to $500 something.

I'm getting an ipad 1 for $280 cash, no tax. The ipad 2 $560, which is DOUBLE the price of what i'm paying for the ipad 1.
And.. Better in quality and specs? Yes. Better in cost/need ratio, no. I don't need my ipad to be more thinner or lighter or any of the stuff that ipad 2 has. That's just me though. So i'd rather pay 50% of the price for the old one.

What about this one? Found a 32 gb wifi that is mint and four months old. Includes apple case, screen protector and apple component video kit for tv. They accepted 375.

Thoughts?
 
Nab it asap. Just purchased a used iPad, 16gb with an apple case on craigslist for $300...still on warranty. No taxes added on, no shipping costs so it's a pretty sweet deal. I'm one of those people who get previous gen tech because I'm on a tight budget. My last 2 macbooks we're refurbished models from the apple store.

Just got brand new iPad 1 in uk for £289.47

Hi, the iPad 1 is an amazing deal now, nine months ago it was state of the art tech that everyone wanted and it still is amazing compared to other tablets. The new iPad 2 is going to be thinner, lighter, faster and have two cameras but hey hang on isn't iPad 1 thin enough, light enough and all ready pretty fast? I think so, and I defo don't need a camera. I think iPad 2 dosnt have enough new features to warrant the extra £150 and these reduced iPad 1s are a bargain.
 
Well, I never heard from the seller. She responds real slow through email only but I found a similar deal and snagged it 10 minutes after it posted. Came with orig box, power cord, charger stuff, a desktop dock, silicone cover/sleeve type thing and warranty till may 2011 for $300. I figure if i were to get the sleeve myself it woulda been $20 right there.

Anyway, all in all I really have no idea what this thing is capable of but so far so good. Time to research some apps!
