I have an iPad 2 that I have probably kept plugged in continuously for 3-4 years as a weather monitor in my kitchen. I noticed the battery was starting to drain and not recharge recently, and discovered I needed a new 30-pin cable, which I replaced.
I ran CoconutBattery on my iPad and found that—since I owned the thing since Feb. 2012—it only had 240 charge cycles and still retained 93.8% battery capacity.
I found this to be amazing for such an “old” piece of tech. Does anyone else keep their iPad plugged in continuously and see similar results? Should I expect another six years out of this battery before I could replace it?
In either case, they don’t make ‘em like they used to!
