Ipad 2017 speaker vibration?

For those with the new iPad, how are the speakers in comparison to the iPad Air 2? Does it still have the vibration issue or has that been fixed in the new 2017 iPad?

Also, does the lack of anti-reflective coating on the new iPad cause a lot of glare issues?
 
I heard they don't vibrate I don't have proof though as I haven't used them, but the iPad is thicker so I'm pretty positive they do not vibrate.

From what I read the lack of laminate display is not a major issue with the glare. Of course it's dependent on lighting conditions.

I have not heard of any speaker vibrations with the new 9.7 iPad.

As far as speaker vibration, I think it relies on speaker volume in some respects, as with my Air 2, it's minimal at half volume. The louder the volume, the vibration resonates through aluminum, beings it's a thinner, lighter material.

Are you speaking from personal experience from your new iPad?

I compared the Air 2 and the 9.7 Pro speaker wise and there was a huge difference even though they're both the same thickness. The Pro did not have the vibration even at loud volume whereas I could feel the entire Air 2 vibrating even at 1/3 volume. I'm thinking that it's the way the speaker component are designed and not just the thickness of the case.

The 9.7 Pro has a different placement of speakers and has carbon fiber caps over the speakers, to amplify and distribute the sound evenly throughout the iPad. Versus the Air 2 speaker placement, which the sound travels completely different, which is not as equally balanced as the stereo speakers are on the Pro line.
 
I have not felt any vibration from the speakers on the iPad (2017).

Instead of pointing downwards, the iPad Air 2 speaker grilles are at an angle, firing somewhat towards the back, no doubt a compromise due to the thinness.

Lack of reflective coating isn't an issue unless you're viewing at a steep 30 degree angle or something crazy like that.
 
I played a couple of podcasts quite loudly and noticed no vibrations.
 
i bought two. no vibrations like air 2. Glare is same as air1. The screen is a bit brighter and maybe bluer.. I feel more eye tiredness than air 1. I am thinking of returning it.
 
Glare is terrible on these. I use it mainly in darkened rooms though, so it's not a big deal for me. There is no, I repeat no, screen vibration from the speakers. That was only on the Air 2 due to the thickness of the device combined with Apple being clueless about how to position the speakers in a device that small. They learned from that mistake with the Pro.
 
Ok, I'm coming from the iPad 3 and just got my 2017 today. Been loving everything about it, but just played my first YouTube video and the entire iPad vibrated, even at less than half volume.

Tried a song and same thing. Very jarring. My iPad 3 has absolutely no vibration at any volume. Did I get a dud?
 
Inevitable vibration can be felt after 60% or so volume level, but only near the speaker area (one inch or so away from the home button). I don't know if it has to do with the fact I already got a 3rd party full case wrapping the whole unit up which may have absorbed some of the vibration. That said since I also upgraded from an iPad 3, and can confirm that the vibration on this new one is indeed noticably more than iPad 3, but it was such a heavy tablet for today's standard it is not a very fair comparison.

I don't have first hand experience with the Air 2 so I cannot relate to how much better this one is on the issue, but I can say it is not bothering me at all.
 
No vibration on my iPad. This can be easily solved by putting a case on it, a lot of OCDs in this forum nowadays....

I don't want to put a case on it. Never used one before. Don't want one now.

So your 2017 iPad has zero vibration? Are you using a case?

My entire iPad, that's edge to edge, vibrates horribly when watching a video, with the volume not even halfway up. It feels so horrible I can barely continue to hold the thing.

Just trying to determine whether or not I got a defective unit.

It's a piece of metal and glass less than an inch thick. Of course if you put speakers in it, they're going to vibrate the chassis a bit. It's nothing remotely as bad as the screen bouncing on the Air 2.

*Edit* First of all you should never use an iPad without a case. You're just asking for it to fall and break. There are some really excellent, cheap slim cases that add next to no bulk to it. In my slim case, I feel no vibration at all. For the sake of this test I took it out. At 5 bars the device vibrates across the entirety of the bottom. The screen doesn't vibrate except ever so slightly on big bass hits. If I run the volume up near max, the same amount of vibration I felt at 5 is still felt. Nothing bad at all. And again, not felt at all when it's inside my case. The difference between this and the Air 2 is enormous. The entire screen would shake on the Air 2 at 3 bars or higher. If yours is shaking dramatically, you obviously have a bad device.

I always put cases on my iPad. But you make an excellent point. The vibration will be absorbed through the silicone or depending what type of case you use. But even my Air 2 has vibration, but is virtually non existent with my case.

Just took my iPad (2017) out of the case and it vibrates (as expected) with medium to high volume. That's absolutely normal, chillax!
 
Why is this a thing...? Don't people realize you can feel the sound because the speakers are better and actually have a bit of bass to them? I noticed this with my iPhone 7, and it comes along with the speakers sounding significantly better than my iPhone 6.

Would you prefer crappy speakers with an empty/tinny sound or something?

I prefer no vibration like my iPad 3 but I'll live with it.

Feeling the speakers through the chassis is one thing. The vibration on the Air 2 at >50% felt like force feedback on a console controller. The 2017 at full volume rocks the tablet much less.
