Hey all!

I currently have an Air 2 but thinking of (upgrading??) to the 2018 iPad. Interested to hear from those who were former Air 2 users who now use or purchased the 2018 model.

Thanks!

I think the only improvement you would get out of it is the ability to use the Apple Pencil. I think it’s worth upgrading Air 2 to the Pro, but not to a regular 2018 unless you have a major reason to use the Pencil and absolutely no reason to make going for the Pro worth it.

I have recently upgraded from an Air to the 2018 model.

Not as big an improvement as I had thought it would be but still noticeable and worthwhile. Split screen support for me is nice as the original Air did not support this. App load times are noticeably quicker

Not convinced the differences from an Air2 would be enough though. Already supports split screen. Depends on your usage if the faster processor would be noticeable.

I would advise saving the money and putting it towards a Pro unless you desperately need Pencil support.

Totally agree. The display on the non-Pro makes me want to cry. It isn't much faster, and it's thicker and heavier. Even the Pro 10.5" didn't feel like a worthwhile upgrade to me.

The only thing it has going for it, if you already own an Air 2, is Gen 1 pencil support. Not an "upgrade" in my opinion. As a first time purchase, though, it's a helluva deal.

If you can swing the purchase price, the Pro 11" on the other hand is a revelation.

Thanks everyone....I'm going to bypass the 2018 iPad & just check out the newer pro models.
