The deals on the iPad 2020 right now are really good.

Best buy has confirmed they will price match BrandSmart USA..

12.9 Inch - 849
11 Inch - 649!

Ontop of my 10.5 trade..

650 for a 12.9
449 for a 11..

Am I crazy for considering this? I get the M1.. but these deals are killer..

Those are outstanding prices and the 2020 pro is still a great iPad. Mine is very fast and responsive.

Wow great find.
My iPad Pro 10.5 has been having issues with the display for a while now. It’s stops registering touches for like 5 seconds at a time. It’s so annoying. I waited for the reveal of the 2021 iPad Pro and now I’m ready to upgrade. I can get the new 2021 iPad for $750 with a student discount. So:

$750 - iPad Pro 2021 11”
$650 - iPad Pro 2020 11”

The differences between the two seem to be:
  • M1 vs A12Z CPU
  • Front facing camera, 7MP vs 12MP
  • 6GB vs 8GB of RAM
I use my iPad as much as I use my iPhone, so a lot but not for anything too demanding. This is such a tough choice if Best Buy does in fact price match with BrandSmartUSA.

Apple gave me $280 for trading in my 10.5 64 gig WiFi a little over 2 weeks ago. If that is the case still , you could get the M1 11 inch for 519 before tax or even less if you can get a discount be it military vet or educational. Also money back if using Apple Card

I traded in my 10.5 256GB for $300 a month or so ago. Sucks they don’t take the capacity into consideration. Gonna stack that along with the education discount to order the 12.9”.

This is the route I decided to go. once I found out Apple would give me an extra 80 bucks for my 10.5, I decided to go this route. I will be pre ordering the m1 11 inch. Can’t wait.

If you get a good deal on the 2020 model and A12Z / 6 GB RAM is „enough“ for your purpose, why not? Especially if you consider the 11 inch model, which does not have the XDR display. I consider buying the a 2020 11 inch 256 GB, and handing down my 2018 iPad Pro (bought „Amazon Refurbished“ like new) to replace a 2018 A10 iPad.

Grabbing an open box 2020 iPad pro 12.9 1 TB for 1120 at Best Buy...considering a new 2021 config would cost 1800...I’m cool with that decision
Sounds like the deal I got on December 31st on my 11 pro, 1TB cellular 950 new, do not regret it even with the M1 coming now

I would wait for a better deal on the 2020 model if you're not in a hurry.

I just got mine on sale at the apple store. Since they have stock they have discounted them to sell. Figured why not. The 2020 model is enough for what I use it for.
I am going to get one of those 24 inch iMac’s though.

My iPad needs are fairly light with most of my “computing” work being done on a 2018 15.4” MBP. I’m typing this on my 10.5” iPP, which still does a fine job but I want the larger 12.9” screen. The 2021 12.9 is very tempting, but a 2020 12.9 256GB at Costco for $899 ($1099 for a 512GB) really looks good to my more practical side.

I got a $400 Ipad Air (2013, 128 GB) for $200 used online back around 2015. That was such a great deal that if I can find something like that on a lower end iPad, I'd jump on that!

Same, although I got the 12.9 128gb -$770 after $100 off promo. Will be canceling my 2021 pre order
