Ok, I currently have a MIFI which i use with my iPad 3G 64Gb. Granted I rarely or haven't even leveraged the internal 3G yet from AT&T because of my MIFI but I did get the device in the event I needed connection and didn't have my MIFI with me.
My question is this, with the new rate/plan changes. I'm hearing that you can be grandfathered in. From my understanding if you currently have an iPhone plan and you don't "switch" to the new plans, your currently supposedly unlimited data plan on the iPhone is grandfathered in which makes sense. If I want tethering that's when I will lose it because I will be forced to choose on of the new data plans.
From an iPad perspective, since the data plan is "per need per use" basis (granted you have to cancel before the 30 days if you don't need it afterwards), I'm assuming with the new plan implementation, basically I'm going to be forced to move to the new plan because I'm currently not "signed on" with the internal 3G on the iPad with AT&T in the event I need it in the future and don't have my MIFI.
So...is this correct that before June 7th, if I want the unlimited plan, I technically will have to sign up with 3G on AT&T on the iPad and never cancel it, otherwise, the next time I sign in, I will be forced to choose a plan?
I'm assuming this is the case and well I guess to some extent it works but I like the work "unlimited".
