We know that the iPad 3G will take a microSIM card, and the famous leak of the new iPhone due this year also uses the same. Any guess whether we will be able to swap the iPhone microSIM card and use it on the iPad 3G for wireless internet?

Is there away for Apple and AT&T to prevent swapping the microSIM card to prevent using data services from the iPhone on the iPad 3G?

Well, we don't know what we don't know. We don't know enough about the iPad data connection. By the time the 4G phone comes out, things could be set up to only allow iPad 'phone numbers' (however that works) on iPad accounts and (more importantly) only iPhone numbers on iPhone ones.

If that's not clear, what I mean is that the data connections might not be identical, and so the sims won't be logically interchangeable, even if they are (seem to be) physically interchangeable.

I expect a lot of experimentation with these beasts and then, of course, with the 4G phone!
