Hi, I have been reading the ipad forum since it came out and have used mroogle but my question has never been asked.

Does the Ipad 3G on wifi last the same amount of time on battery as the ipad wifi??

Thanks.

According to the iPad specs posted on the Apple website.

Up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music

Up to 9 hours of surfing the web using 3G data network

But I would think if you turn the 3G off it will last the same as the wifi model. Possibly a small fraction less because of the GPS.

I own and use both and the difference is not worth worrying about. If my iPad only did 6 hours it would be way more than most would ever use before being able to recharge it. The battery life is outstanding on both.

3G is SLOW in comparison to using WiFi, if anything, it will burn up more batteries just waiting on 3G in comparison to WiFi. BUT when WiFi is not available, it is worth having 3G. I was scared people would hog and clog the network and just leave it on 3G but once you have used WiFi you will use it for the speed!
