C'mon Apple, give us a ship date already!!! Missing out on this weekends launch because I went with a premium 3G model is killing me!! lol :D

I couldn't take it. Among other factors besides the wait, I decided to go 64GB Wifi. I know that I would be going completely psychotic right now.

I'm kinda cool with waiting for the 3G. I know that there will be more iPad exclusive apps out then. For example, when the App Store first opened, I bought Twitterrific, but end up really liking Tweetie much better.

This really didn't help me at all.

*goes back to pretending a sheet of paper is an iPad*

I don' want to wait anymore, I'm guessing that it will be released Saturday April 24, coincidentally the one day I'm unable to go to the store

i am going psychotic! i got the wifi+3g and i still find myself counting down the days till april 3rd for some reason.took probably two weeks to finally decide.what were the reasons you chose a wifi only model?

I decided I'd rather risk going "psychotic" now rather than later when I'm in a place with no wifi:)

The average mac guy will do the exact same thing that they have been doing for years: buss out that iPhone.

Again, I'll take a few more weeks waiting rather over settling for my iphone to do my work/fun for the next few months...:D

Worth the wait

When you are in an airport and they want to charge you for wi-fi, you will be happy you have your 3G

Twitterrific for iPad is currently listed as free in the app store. Maybe they will set a price before you can officially download it, but right now its free. Wonder if this will just be an opening day promotion? If so I might try downloading it from iTunes for use later to see if you like it again. I agree that Tweetie 2 is better on the iPhone. I love it.

I don't necessarily agree. Boingo, which covers almost every airport I have been to in the United States and has roaming agreements abroad, has a mobile service that is $7.99 per month and will presumably work with iPad.

If airports are the only reason you are considering the 3G, I might reconsider.

Personally I will be going with this setup through the Spring and early Summer, and unless I find any big gaps or use cases where I would use 3G, I won't be upgrading from the wifi model.

Good question. :) Numerous factors came into play.

1. I have a trip on April 10th. (This reason really has everything and nothing to do with my decision). :).

2. I pay for iPhone 3GS and it's jailbroken. So I have MyWi if I need to get on the Internet in a pinch.

Now we are getting to the main reasons.

3. I am home 95% of time. I have a 10 minute driving commute. I'm never in the car as a passenger usually always the driver. I travel maybe twice a year, and the places I go (Aruba) probably won't have Microsims for a while.

4. My iPhone is unlocked. I went on a trip to Amsterdam last year. That was invaluable. Not sure if I'd want to walk around the streets of Amsterdam with a 10" iPad. LOL! Whipping out my iPhone is no problem, and I wouldn't want to pay twice for a data plan. So I'll always have to bring my iPhone no matter what.

5. On our trip to Paris, (I actually really thought about this), we were on the train for 4 hours from Amsterdam to Paris. once I left Amsterdam (like an hour in), the 3G on my iPhone was worthless cause I was in a different country. I was like, wow, in that situation, I would need media more than I would need 3G.

6. Everywhere I go mainly, my house, my friends' house, my parents' house, work, they all have WiFi.

7. I was like I need the 3G iPad for GPS. But the reality is, I barely use the GPS on my iPhone, and I have a standalone unit, and TomTom for iPhone. So I figured, I could definitely live without it.

8. Most likely I will be buying the new iPhone as well.

So all in all, I've decided that I'll go 64GB WiFi instead of 3G 32GB.

Yes, there might be an instance or two where I am kicking myself in the ass. However, I couldn't take the wait, and really, for an instance or two, I could always use MyWi :).

Oh and lastly, a big thing of me wanting a 3G to begin with was that people said MyWi was a battery vampire. But I had tested it before I decided and I had my iPhone plugged in and it was still charging UP even as I was tethering.

I think apple said late april, where do you live, if you aren't too far north you could make a trip down to an apple store in the U.S.

OK, only 3 weeks left of april, so only 3 more weeks to go until I get my iPad:eek:
