I was put on the waiting list Monday (2days ago) and was told it would be up to two weeks. So I have been reading the forums and getting many different quotes, and I called today to find out the average waiting time for them and I was told around three days. I was excited to here this but a little suspicious. So I waited a little and called back. A different person answered and this time told me it would be faster to order online than reserve one in store.

So what are your guys' experiances? What's the average wait time where you live.

I don't know which to believe and of coars need to be able to somewhat plan in order to pick the ipad up.

P.S. This store I'm talking about is Syracuse, NY Carousell. The only place I can get one within about 2 hours of driving.

Been on the waiting list almost a week. I gotta say that tourist kept stealing those ipads. Feel sorry for the people is on the waiting list right now. My local store says that they get shipments almost three times a day. So I'm guessing I have to try tomorrow morning to snatch one even though I'm on the waiting list

ordered mine online last week and says it should be here early-mid next week.
stores wouldnt give me even an estimate. they just said you will be notified when they come in.
same with the iPad Case from Apple

Well it depends on what you ordered (16,32,64) and where. I am in Twin Cities, MN and put my name on the list on May 1st (for a 16GB 3G). I am still waiting after 12 days.

Been waiting for a 16-3g since release day. Called today and they told me probably another 1-3 weeks.

I put 1 on hold at the Apple store at Stanford last Thursday and 1 on hold at the Flagship store in SF on Sat. So far nothing.

even tho im in the us im waiting till the end of may. tho i live only 30 mins away from my apple store in ny and its in a mall so ill just screw around in there and check back here and there.

I put my name on the list in the Bethesda Row store on May 4th 16GB 3G and I have not heard from apple yet. They had told me 5 days, but not to hold them to it. I called the store and they had no info for me. Would not even tell me how many ipads were arriving daily.

Reserved two 16gb & 32gb 3G at the flagship S.F. Store more than a week ago. The part that makes me sad is I see people walking out of the store with iPads. Don't know if there 3g. No word from employees on when I will get mine.

Can i know which ones ur local centre plz...?

I was told - it was hit and miss registering in store...
somedays they get lots - other days little or none...
they couldn't give me an indication - but said on average 2-5 days.
Online ordering seems to be blowing out to 7-10 days...
oh yes and the international orders will now start filling as well!

They started pre orders on 10 May for shipment 28 May - and now new pre orders have slipped to 7 June!

I've taken the gamble and registered in-store.

Edit: ordered in store Florida Mall on 11 May, picked it up this afternoon 13 May.

Strangely, I put myself on the waiting list at the Syracuse store for a 64gig 3G on Tuesday and Wednesday morning (yesterday) I got the email that it was waiting for me. I picked it up last night. One day of waiting . The store employees were amazed when I told them I only waited one day. They aren't selling any to walk-ins, only to people on the waiting list.
