I was pretty disappointed whewn i saw the new features and there was no printing or file system, etc.. For iPad. Butt they really didn't talk about ipad that much in regard to the features. The only thing is how much did they leave out? Do you tank there will be another event that reveals how much more the ipad will be capable of?

Well yeah, I think there could be a lot more features for the iPad, as it was clear they only talked about the iPhone, with just a small blurb about arrival time for the iPad, at least what I got from the live blog. Plus the extra time involved could be a sign of this. Also, during the q&a there was a curious response to if there would be widgets on the ipad. I don't think there will be a huge difference, but hopefully some useful stuff that makes more sense on the iPad that they didn't bother with on the iPhone, or care divulge until closer to the ipad's update.
Meanwhile, other companies will release tablets that will do all (or most) of what it cant or doesnt like cameras, flash support, multi tasking etc...and blow the iPad away. This has already happened with Google and the iPhone. Is Apple really going to make the same mistake again with a new device? I sure hope not.
How's that windows tablet working for ya? Could you type one post before it's out of juice?
Let's not even talk about how many times we have to calibrate that screen or how horrible viewing angles it has or the lack accelerometer and there as heavy as my Mac pro.
Yeah, Google have really blown the iPhone away. I'm sure Apple are really troubled by those 150,000 Nexus One sales..
Apple's way of multitasking prevents this problem. I'm expecting something very good.

You have to realize Apple doesn't sell iPhones purely because of its tech features. It's got the best Apps for one. Go over to the forum where people have switched to the N1, you'll hear about bad keyboards, screens, etc.
On top of that, there are some other MAJOR reasons why people buy Apple.
Service and Support are a couple of the major reasons. I can walk into any store and get my phone looked at or replaced within 24 hours. Try doing that with most phones.
The iPhone is a phone for everyone, not just techies. The N1 is a little more focused on techies.

I kinda agree with the google statement, cause android isn't about 1 phone. They have tons, and it is about to overtake iPhone as the top mobile platform. The apps do kinda blow, there isn't very good good games or anything, but it still is a pretty strong competitor. I can't remember where i read about it, but android is gaining on iPhone fast, which is why they are probably going multi carrier this year.
I think what most people don't realize is that things take time to implement and although I'm sure Apple especially may hold back a feature or two due to marketing reasons for future iterations, most of the other features simply take time to implement. I mean the stuff they showed for OS 4 must have taken a lot of time. And although some smart phones have the features already what people aren't saying is that those features don't work well or that they are huge drains on the system. To get things right it takes time and I'm glad Apple takes the time to make things feel smooth and effortless.
I don't work in tech but I know in my business stuff takes time to plan and implement if you wanna get it right. I'm pretty sure the same applies for the tech industry.

Yeah it takes time, but porting the same software over to the iPad shouldn't take that long. If try immplement a camera on the iphone before iPad, i will be pissed. The iphone would be the superior product. I just saw another post that said the 2.0 iPad will be out in december, and I would be so pissed if they released a new one that soon after the 1g
The iPhone has 1 big flaw, it's an At&t only phone 
. When they first came out I thought it would be sweet to own one until I realized the phone service At&t in my area blows.
So I stick with Verizon which is very good out here. So I bought the Touch instead, a good plan B.

I think they will release iPhone OS 4 with the new iPhone in June (obvious) and at the same time they will demo the iPad specific features of OS 4 which haven't been mentioned yet and it'll get released about he same time as the 4G touches.
First off, they really only talked about 7 of the 100 possible features. Some of the printing stuff may work. I would also like to see some of this wireless file transfers come to the consumer level rather than the Enterprise version. I do realize that it is so companies can lock the phone and push the apps that they want to them, but the technology is there obviously and could be used to access files remotely without the use of iTunes.
We will probably start seeing more features leaked and by summer we will have some great new features on our phones and then iPads shortly thereafter.
