I decided this last week to replace the battery on my Mini 4. It is a more convenient size for reading, for me, than my 10.5" pro. Battery has been bad for awhile, though. Shutting off below 30%, etc.

$114 is kind of stretching things for an old model like this (128GB, Cellular), but still cheaper than a 5.

Anyway, I guess they just send a refurbished model. Shipped it Thursday, and Apple received it Friday and has already shipped a replacement unit that I should receive Monday.

Should get at least a couple years out of it with a new battery. Even if it doesn't get an OS update this fall apps I use should still support it for a time. Not like it gets heavy CPU or GPU usage.
