I'm looking for a case for my iPad 4th generation that I was recently given as a gift. I'm generally very careful with my electronics, but I borrowed an iPad a few years back for 2 weeks and shattered the screen within two days... Despite that being the only device I've broken, I'm scared. Also, I will use this when performing to control different things, and I want it to be protected should it fall from a music stand. I have always gotten along well with Otter Boxes, and am thinking that's what I should go with. I was wondering if someone might have a different suggestion. I'm not afraid to spend $100 on a case, but cheaper is always preferred. I like black. If doesn't need a stand built in (I actually prefer that it doesn't).

I also am a little confused on how much the Otter Box defender should cost. The one from otter box on amazon is $80.00 but you see some that are nearly half that. I don't get it, are those fake?

Thanks!
