Apple shipped the iPad 7th Generation a year ago. Shipping times have slipped to September 15 at best, even October in some states. I think we might see a new iPad 8th Generation on September 8 just in time for back to school. MacRumors should change its advisory on the IPad 7th Generation to Don’t Buy.

All iPads are facing record demand and we've seen long lead times for several months now. So we can't use lead times to predict whether a new product is arriving soon.

Air 3 has started developing that white spot issue recently, I hope 8th gen and Air 4 doesn't fall in line with that thing..

All iPads are harder to come by right now because of the huge increase in demand as many people are still working/studying from home, and in many places school has just started or is just about to start.

So far the rumor mill has only been talking about a new Air. But it would make most sense for both the base and Air to be launched at the same time considering past years efforts.

With a dedicated event (watch and ipad) it's very likely that the air is coming too.... However given the timing (before the iphone) it's also likely that the air will get A13 instead of A14... which would still be fine... Personally however I would only consider it if they bring quad speakers too...
