iPad iPad 8th Generation, Random Restarts

Did a quick search and didn’t see this issue being discussed recently. Just purchased a new iPad earlier today. Set up as new iPad and updated iOS. Over the last couple hours, it has restarting several times while using various apps. Is this a known issue? Thoughts?

By restarting, do you mean that the device straight up shutting down, showing the Apple logo for a bit, and then booting into the lock screen?

I was thinking that the device might actually be respringing instead of restarting.

Screen goes black, I get the spinning wheel thing for a few seconds, then back to lock screen. Seems to happen most often scrolling in apps, like Facebook, but has occurred about four times and only been out of the box 8 hours.

Ah, okay. You’re device isn’t restarting then. It’s respringing.

I’ve heard about a similar issue. Let me try to find the thread...

Both my old, original gen iPad pro 12” and my new 2020 model do this with Facebook - especially in Facebook Marketplace - if I scroll down far enough. I put it down to an irritating bug - either in the FB app itself or in iPad OS

My seventh generation iPad does the exact same thing and it’s annoying it’s mostly when I’m scrolling down on a page.

Sounds like some corruption within the app causing IOS to hiccup. Maybe try deleting the app and reinstalling a fresh copy from the app store.
