iPad iPad 9th generation when are they usually released?

Is the 9th gen iPad most likely to be out after or before the new iPhone? Historically speaking.

Historically speaking, my best guess is that a new model iPad 10.2" might be in September/October.

This is the typical timeframe for release of new models for the standard iPad model.
The last two models (7th and 8th gen) were release in September.

However this is not a given as Apple have been known to change release dates as they did in moving from March 2018 for the 6th gen to September 2019 for the 7th gen.

Additionally, we don't know what effect COVID may have on production lines in manufacturing and possible shortages of chips.

Most likely after, but last year the iPad was before the iPhone. I suspect that’s because the iPhone got delayed last year. The iPhones are supposedly going to be on time this year.

Except for the processor I don’t expect the mainstream iPad to change much this year.

Some rumours point to the chassis being the same as the Ipad Air 3 (10.5" screen).

Rumors have also predicted A13. I’s a little soon for the entry-level iPad to get a 2020 chip. It usually gets one from a couple years earlier.
