iPad iPad 9th Generation

Hi all,

Looking to get an iPad purely for email, web browsing and Netflix etc.

Is the 9th generation up to this for a few years? I haven’t bought an iPad for years now.

Yes. Very capable iPad. You don't hear much about it in these forums but for most people that use an iPad this is the device that gets the job done.

Typing this on a 9th gen now. I think so, I use mine at the moment for Office, email, Photoshop, Lightroom and the occasional editing of 4K from GoPro. Does it all just fine. On a side note, I find iPads so confusing, aside from more niche media editing stuff and huge files, all of the newer models over the last few years seem to basically do most things just as well as each other. I do wish this thing supported external displays properly though, not even stage manager, just able to drive a display without black bars - Aside from that, fantastic bit of kit for the money.

Yes, any half-decent iPad will suffice for that. Unless you really want a full-screen design, that iPad is great.
I upgraded to an Air 5, but I can use my 9.7-inch iPad Pro (which I still have) for light use like reading and TV shows just fine, even light gaming still runs impeccably. For light use, iPads last a very long time. You will see a sharp battery life drop if you update iPadOS (I don’t), but apart from that, it’ll be fine.
