New iPad 9th Generation 64g is like $350 with tax. But what if I found a 3rd gen 12.9 pro 64g for $400, would that be a better deal? 3rd gens aren’t too old are they?

Only the 1st gen 11" pro have 64 GB, that would be a pretty old model. 10.5" Pro that's older yet had 64 GB also.

I think the 12.9 3rd gen had 64 gigs. I agree that 10.5 is super old. But the 3rd gens are still good

Even if it is a 1st gen 11" iPad Pro, it still has a number of advantages: face ID, True tone, 120 Hz Promotion, Apple Pencil 2, four speakers. (I have one, so maybe I am biased.)
OTOH, the battery would be about 3 years old.

If it is the older 10.5" iPad Pro, no, don't get it

Oh man I’m finding all kinds of good deals right now on Facebook marketplace, locally too. 12.9 3rd gen 64g for $350
And the LATEST 11 128g for $440. Think I will get the latest.

Be careful with that, though. The latest 11" iPad Pro retails for $799 plus tax and it didn't come out that long ago. If it sounds too good to be true...

Yes, the current Apple trade-in value for my 1st Gen iPad Pro is $415.
Finding a latest Gen one for less money would make one suspect there is a catch (perhaps just cosmetic damage). The seller could get more by just trading it in for an Apple Gift Card

The good thing is both are local. So I will check them out in person and have a bill of sale written up. Both deals too good to pass up but I’ll take the 2021 pro

Unless he needs the money. You’d be surprised by how many people buy iPads just to have no usage for it.

I would consider whether what size screen you want first. The 12.9 gives more screen space to work on, while 11" pro is more portable.

Very true. But the 12.9 is a 2018 model and the 11 is a 2021 model and only $75 more.

I ended up buying the 12.9 pro 3rd gen for $300. But someone wants to trade and 9th gen for it saying the 9th gen is faster because it has a better a13 chip. I’m not gonna trade him, but is the 9th gen faster due to the chip?
