Im waiting for the day were the ipad will be a ULTRA HD device with an aspect ratio suitable for watching movies without LETTER BOX... But I fear I will not live that long to see this happen.

While I have a 70 inch hd TV, I actually prefer watching shows on my Ipad... And while the resoultion on my current Ipad is Good, even by todays standards, 4K is becoming out of date...And the resolution of 264 PPI, is effen ancient... Its amazing how long apple is milking that old lcd screen...

The problem with changing the aspect ratio to make it better for watching movies is that you then make it worse for almost everything else an iPad is used for. Isn’t it better to just have black bars? Are they that much worse than empty space?

And do you want better resolution because you can actually see the pixels at 264 ppi?

Meh . . we're all different I guess . . as a bifocal eyeglass wearer I could care less abut 4k on small displays that are going to be within a few feet of me. I don't even care about QHD on cell phones. I think the display density on my gen 2 IPP is fantastic personally. But yeah I guess maybe it's one of those once you see it you can't unsee it things . . and I just can't see it . .
