Hi, how are you doing, guys?

I have a question regarding the product abbrevations of iPads.
What do they mean?

I was looking at two seemingly identical iPads but they had different abbrevations next to them which is why I was wondering what they stand for.

Does anyone know the difference between these two:

MPGT2FD/A
vs
MP2G2FD/A

Its only the 2 that is different but what does it mean?

Thanks.

I checked on google:

Part no. MP2G2FD/A
Apple 9.7 inch iPad 32gb WiFi Silver

Part no. MPGT2FD/A
Apple 9.7 inch iPad 32gb WiFi Gold

ahh are you thinking about how ah automobiles set their VIN numbers? Looking at all Apple products, they start with the letter M, assuming that stands for Macintosh. Then there is a series of Letters and Numbers which is the Order Number. If the iPad is refurbished then the Order Number would have an F in replace ex> FLMW2LL/A

Macs start with the letter M followed by a series of numbers which is followed by LL

You can also check the serial number if you have it. All Model numbers should pop up on Google, like TinyChip said.
