I have an Air 2 which if fine speed and storage wise but ever since iOS 13 battery life is bad. I wonder if it is worthwhile to replace the battery on an old iPad from 2014? Question is also if battery is bad or it can’t handle the load from iOS 13?

Appreciate any advice.

I think its great how content you are with your ipad and how you try to make your products last, but that is just old as hell. I think its finally time to retire that baby and maybe get a base model ipad. Even the cheapest one will be a nice upgrade. Buy it and keep it until it doesn’t work anymore

The logical upgrade for you is the Air 3. But I say keep using it until it no longer receives updates. Save your money for the next upgrade.

My recommendation is a 10.5 Pro for $349 on the refurb store. It will be a nice upgrade from the Air 2 vs the base model iPad lacking the laminated display. The 10.5 Pro is still a beast thanks to the 4GB of RAM. The base model iPad has the A10 while the Pro has the A10X, which is much better so OP would be getting an older model Pro with better specs than the current budget iPad.

Get an iPad Air 3. The larger screen makes it a great purchase.
