I’ve noticed this for the past month. It’s probably been there before. Weird part is that this happens when you press hard on the screen. I just have to hold it from the bottom right corner and it happens. And it’s only in the bottom right corner. No where else. Do you think it’s worth going to the Apple store for this? iPad is still under warranty as I bought it in June

Definitely worth it. If there’s no damage to the device you’re probably entitled to a screen/device replacement.

None at all looks just like it did when it came out the box. I have an appointment tomorrow I just wasn’t sure if this was a known thing or something not sure. It’s just annoying because when I read or something I usually only do it holding the bottom right corner.

So thise spots show up on the top of the screen when you hold on to the bottom? Are you pressing really hard on the screen when you hold it?

When I hold the bottom right the deforming happens in the bottom right of the screen. And I’m not holding it hard. It only happens in that one spot. I can lightly press the back and itll happen.

When the Air 2 came out there were reports of this happening when gripped tightly. The Air 2 is very thin, so some pressure will deform the screen.

But in this case it looks like its a defect since your not holding it hard.

Yea the employee that was assisting me today was like that’s not right. So he replaced my iPad. This one is perfectly fine. And I got my iPhone case replaced today. So that was fun. Haha.

This is why I prefer the non-laminated screen of the Air 1 or 2017 regular model. Laminated is too sensitive to screen pressure anomalies for me. But this is all personal preference.

True. But there’s also the kinda plastic display feel. I never liked it but still want a 2017 ipad

Yeah I agree. It’s a bit of a trade off. But that plasticy feel doesn’t bother me much, or not nearly as much as the sensitivity of the laminated screen to pressure. I’m happy I stuck with the 2017, especially as no need for pencil or keyboard.
