I have an iPad Air 2 (Model A1566 MGL12LL/A) and just upgraded to iOS 9. I can do the slide feature however I cannot make apps go 50/50 split. It's acting as if it's only an iPad Air, but I most def have the 2. Any ideas? Thanks

Try with Apple apps.

I'm finding it tough to see the usefulness of this feature unless the unlikely event I'm using 2 Apple apps.

I can swipe on the right to see the preview of apps, click on the app to see the preview, but I don't the solid line on the left of the previewed app to make the split screen on non apple apps. Hopefuly 3rd party apps can be updated? It's a drag not be able to use this function in Word, for exmple.

Third party apps are beginning to function with SplitView. Reportedly, as an example, MS Office apps will work.
I've not been able to use with MS Outlook or Word. I note these apps don't look like they've been updated within the past few days.

even Pages, Numbers and Keynote do not support splitscreen yet. even with the latest update of the apps.
