I had an old ipad air 2 go bad after several years, and never had any problems with contacts showing up on my ipad, meaning texts messages and such, from both Android and Apple.

Since I bought an iPad air 3, I have some contacts (seem to be newer ones) that the names won't show on the ipad This is for both android and iphone users. The phone I'm using is the iPhone 11 pro (FYI). After watching several youtube videos, I still can't seem to get the new names to show up. Just the numbers.

Can anyone give any advice? I'm a fairly tech savvy person, so this is annoying.

I've had this happen before, and what resolved it was toggling all of the Contacts-related settings including iCloud > Contacts, Messages > MMS/SMS, Contacts > Short Name and anything other related settings.

Well, I guess I held my mouth right or something, because though I had disabled all those settings mentioned above in the past, the ipad wasn't working correctly. But it is now, so I dunno...
