Hi

I am after some advice as I am having some issues with my iPad.

I have an iPad Air 3, bought in July 2019, I do not have apple care.

About three weeks ago I turned my iPad off as I normally do, when I went it to turn on it wouldn't come on, the screen would light up, but it would stay black. After a while it come back on and worked fine.

I decided to update to iOS 14 and do a full restore, it happened again. I have done some tests on the screen issues.

There is no issue when the iPad is on, the screen works fine, Apple Pencil is fine.

If I lock the screen and turn it back on, it will turn on fine, anywhere up to 10mins being locked is fine.

If I leave it locked for 10+ mins or longer or turn it off completly, then when I go to turn it on/unlock it, the screen will light up, but up but it will stay black, if that makes sense. No combination of pressing buttons will make it come on, it can take 10mins or up to two hours to start working again.

The iPad is on in the back ground as when I try to turn it on and press buttons I can activate Siri, also I can take screenshots and it will screenshot the home screen with all my apps on it, but I can't see the apps as the screen will be back for me.

Does anybody have any idea what it is? I spoke to my friend and he said it could be the screen which is damaged.

Is it worth going to apple and seeing what they say? As it's only a year and half old and I would expect it to last longer.

It's never been dropped or anything.

Thanks
