#1 What do you guys think of touch ID? I thought I would like it but I don't. I bought the 4 when it first came out and to this day accidentally turn off the display at least once a day. At least. Overall, I love the device and use it as my primary computer but I wave the white flag with touch ID.

#2 Front camera position. i'm that one guy on a zoom call who's picture is in a vertical orientation. Seems there are more than a few laptop/WebCam users still in existence. Sure, I could rotate the device but then I'm always looking away from the camera towards the screen like I'm watching TV off to the side or something while on the call. The iPad Air 4 is not a one handed device like an iPhone or a mini. Why they didn't put the camera on the longer side of these 11 inch devices is beyond me.

OK, I got it out of my system. Carry-on.

#2 Fixed today with Center Stage on the iPad Air 5....doesn't help your Air 4 since it is not a software only thing, hardware AND software.

What's the issue with Touch ID? It sounds as if it turns OFF your Air. Didn't know that’s how it works.

We don't use it on our Airs at all — have smart covers which give us instant on and off. Wonderful. I'll turn the passcode and ID on the few times an Air leaves the house, but otherwise don't bother. Needless hassle.

Too easy to accidentally press it when logging in to sites using fingerprint/iCloud Keychain or paying via Apple Pay.

I've also found the power button TouchID on Air 4/mini 6 fails more often than home button TouchID. It also hates the fingers on my left hand. Tried to reprogram several times and it's still a no go so when in landscape, I just reach over awkwardly with my right hand.

Does Center Stage correct the eye positioning? I thought it was basically just "cropping" around you and moving that crop as you move yourself..

Nope. As you said, it just follows you around.

#1 I’ve learned over time that touch ID is indeed TOUCH ID . . . . not Press ID. I don’t even think about it anymore, I just ‘touch’ it. And if it doesn’t work (rarely) I just shift my finger tip . . . without pressing.

#2 I have no solution. But I’m wondering if there’s any way to hook up an outboard webcam, like on a Mac? Anyone done this, like through the usb-c?
