If the supposed shipping in oct are true, preorders beginning next week would be great. Get those out of the way for the upcoming iPhone launch.

Who's to say there will even be pre-orders? It might just be "on sale" one day in October. Could coincide with the iPhone 12 event, maybe around mid-month. Who knows? It's all just guessing at this point.

There's a reason Apple went out of their way to say the Air 4 doesn't qualify for the free AirPods promotion. And that reason is that its obviously releasing early in October.
